- White-clawed crayfish (survey July to October): presence or absence surveys, mitigation design and implementation
- Reptiles (survey March to June & September): presence or absence surveys, mitigation design and implementation.
- Birds (breeding survey March-July, wintering survey October-March): surveys, mitigation design and implementation.
- Bats (activity surveys from April-September): surveys, mitigation design and implementation.
- Dormice (nut search from September-December, nest search September-February, box checks March-October): surveys, mitigation design and implementation.
- Water voles (survey April-September): presence or absence surveys, mitigation design and implementation.
- Otters (survey all year, but especially November-February): surveys, mitigation design and implementation.
- Badgers (survey all year, but most active in February-April and September-November): surveys, mitigation design and implementation.

Ecology Link has produced an ecology survey calendar as a guide to when the different surveys can be undertaken. This can vary slightly according to when the different seasons occur and therefore when animals come in and out of hibernation or lifecycle stage.
