Ecology Link have undertaken numerous badger activity and bait-marking surveys over recent years.
We always strive to maintain badger setts in-situ, with considerate planning design to retain the sett(s) and sufficient foraging habitat and connectivity on and adjacent to each site. It is important all sets within the clan territory are easily and safely accessible to badgers, especially where road schemes are proposed which can otherwise dissect key habitat.
Artificial setts
We have undertaken works involving obtaining NE licences to either temporarily disturb or close a sett, or as a last resort, permanently close a sett. This sometimes necessitates the creation of an artificial sett within the clan territory.
